Trilene Knot

A stronger cousin of the clinch — double-through-the-eye for extra security on mono/fluoro.

How to tie it

  1. 1Pass the tag through the hook eye twice, leaving a small double loop at the eye.
  2. 2Wrap the tag around the standing line 5–6 times.
  3. 3Bring the tag back through the double loop at the eye.
  4. 4Wet it and cinch down slowly; trim the tag.

Common mistakes

  • Crossing the double loops so they don't seat
  • Not wetting before cinching

When not to use it

Braid (slips). Great for mono/fluoro.
