How to tie it

  1. 1Tie a loose overhand knot in the line a few inches from the tag.
  2. 2Pass the tag through the hook eye, then back through the overhand knot.
  3. 3Wrap the tag around the standing line 2–3 times.
  4. 4Feed the tag back through the overhand knot again.
  5. 5Wet, set the loop size, and cinch; trim.

Common mistakes

  • Loop too big (poor hooksets)
  • Cinching before setting the loop size

When not to use it

Heavy structure where a fixed knot is stronger.
