Joins two similar-diameter lines smoothly — classic for building tapered mono/fluoro leaders (fly and conventional).
line-to-lineIntermediateStrength 4/5monofilamentfluorocarbon
How to tie it
- 1Overlap the two lines. Wrap one tag around the other line 5–6 times.
- 2Bring that tag back to the middle gap.
- 3Wrap the other tag around the first line 5–6 times the opposite direction.
- 4Bring it back through the same middle gap (opposite side).
- 5Wet, pull the standing lines to draw the wraps together; trim tags.
Common mistakes
- Uneven wrap counts
- Tags not passing through the center gap
When not to use it
Very different diameters — use an Albright.
