Joins fly line to leader butt (or backing to fly line) with a smooth, slim connection that slides through guides.

How to tie it
- 1Lay a nail (or small tube) alongside the fly line and leader, overlapping.
- 2Wrap the leader around the fly line and nail 6–7 times, working back over itself.
- 3Feed the leader tag back under the wraps along the nail/tube.
- 4Slide the nail out, wet, and pull the wraps tight; trim both tags.
Common mistakes
- Loose wraps that don't bite the fly line
- Skipping the tube/nail (hard to seat)
